Being a DJ in the age of social media

DJ SOCIAL MEDIA

As I write this piece of self reflective history, I have been a DJ for 32 years now from boy to man, and I can safely say I have enough knowledge and experience to dive into this writing with extreme confidence.

But my video is not going to focus on the pros and cons of being a DJ in the digital world we all now inhabit, nor is it going to pick apart the differences between the pre social media age either. No sir. I am simply going to look back at the last 18 years which for me was the beginning of my social media presence as a DJ along with many others who can possibly relate to these things I mention in the video.

I first got into social media in 2006 in the days of Myspace when the world was still pretty innocent in terms of human behaviour not being damaged by online activities as such. The internet was still a thing to escape to from the real world and Myspace provided that bit of fun for a while.

Anyway as with all things Myspace came to an end quite rapidly with the growth of Facebook and the rest is history. So join me below on this episode of the Waxacast Podcast where I highlight some of the key moments in the age of the DJ on social media.
