Must-Have Ableton Plug-Ins for Beginner Level Music Production

Updated: Apr 26

How many of us use the built in plug ins of our DAW than we do 3rd party?

Probably more of the latter. We tend to go for the flashy looking and more expensive plug ins than we do with the dull looking ones built in to the DAW.

This is a very common trait for us producers and its no fault of ours as we have spent our lives being sold flashy objects, so it is no exception that we always find ourselves drawn to the flashy synths and not the dull ones built in.

However. Lets try and break that habit a little, and test out some of these plug ins.

In this short series I have constructed a track using some of the key plug ins from Ableton to create a 1980's styled Electro Funk track.

The aim here is to use Ableton stock only and highlight the strength of those plug ins so that you can use them above the 3rd party ones sometimes as they are actually very good if you apply the right effects and tonality.

So for all of you beginners out there and some of you seasoned veterans too that might need a refresh course, here is a short series of videos below highlighting some of the key plug ins built within Ableton for you to learn from. Enjoy.
