This is an updated list of synths that are free and are absolutely superb in every way for all types of music obviously but the focus here at Waxadisc is always Nu-Disco & the funkier side of things.

SURGE OPEN SOURCE VST
The first synth in the new update is the Surge VST, which is an open source synth jam packed full of every kind of sound and pre-set you want. Whether or not you produce Ambient or Disco House there is something for you here.
There is an immense list to choose from and also you have lots of producers sending in their pre-sets as it is open source. So take advantage.

OBXD OBERHEIM SYNTH
The second synth is one I have already promoted but with the new video above being for Nu-Disco I thought it would be suitable to reintroduce for its super cool Synth Bass pre-set.
Also there are the synth bells that it has which are straight out of the 1980's.
However as I state in the video. Be mindful that on their landing page, you will see a price tag for $49.
But if you look to the bottom left you will see a selection of choices for either mac or PC etc which is the free version.

FB-7999 VST
The final free VST for the update is the FB-7999 which is from the Full Bucket site where they recreate classic Korg synthesizers from back in the day and develop them as software.
This synth is the DW-6000/8000 remake from the 1980's and is layered with some of the most iconic sounds of the era.
The product they have is possibly one of the best online for free synths and you have at your disposal an army of high quality vintage synths from the 70's and 80's.
So if you want to produce obscure Ambient or smooth 80's Pop & Soul music, then this is your one stop shop for that very purpose.
